What is alpaca-assisted therapy?
Alpaca-Assisted Therapy (AAT) integrates the calming presence of alpacas into structured, goal-driven therapy sessions led by qualified therapists. As a specialised branch of ecotherapy, AAT utilises the great outdoors as an integral component of the therapeutic journey. The objectives of AAT span a diverse range—from physical and emotional to educational and psychological goals—augmenting the benefits of conventional therapy. Interaction with our alpacas fosters trust, elevates mood, bolsters self-worth, mitigates loneliness, and cultivates essential life skills. This unique interplay facilitates easier emotional expression and reflection, thereby accelerating the healing and growth process.

Meet the Crea Pax Crew: The Passionate and Caring Team Behind Our Vision
Martha BacheLead CounsellorSay hello to Martha, our warm and approachable lead counsellor. Martha proudly holds a BSc (Hons) in Addictions Counselling and has further enriched her skill set with diplomas in both Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Animal-Assisted Therapy. Her gift lies in her ability to connect with everyone—two-legged or four, especially when it comes to alpacas. She often teams up with other professionals to keep evolving her programmes, making sure they're as effective as they are compassionate. Particularly successful are her animal intervention workshops, designed to help those who find traditional therapies a challenge.
When she’s not transforming lives, Martha is a doting mum with a love for the great outdoors and an enthusiasm for cricket and gymnastics. If you think an assessment with Martha could benefit you, don't hesitate to get in touch. |
